Hair Love - Aubrey's GPB Conditioner

Are you on the look out for a good protein conditioner?  Whether you're a chemical-free naturalista, rock relaxed/permed locks, color/dye your hair or use heating elements like curlers or flat irons, you may find yourself needing a strengthening conditioner to counteract all the stress you impose on your tresses.  I know I did.  And after a short search, I found one that I think is absolutely fantastic - Aubrey Organics' GPB Conditioner.

When I really started getting serious about growing my permed hair and getting it to its healthiest state, I knew I wanted to add an effective protein conditioner to my arsenal of hair products.  Protein-based treatments and conditioners are formulated to specifically address and thus improve the state of damaged, brittle, weakened hair.  My sister would use ApHogee treatments on her colored, permed hair, but the fact that it literally made her hair hard as a rock during processing and didn't seem to add any shine afterwards was a major turn off for me.  I wanted strength and shine.  I wanted it all and GPB definitely delivered.

Aubrey is a company that specializes in 100% natural hair, skin and body care products.  Therefore, none of their products contain additives of petrochemicals of any kind.  They were the first personal care company to be certified as an organic processor and, therefore, prides itself on using only the finest natural, organic ingredients in its personal care lineup.

Aubrey GPB conditioner is somewhat thick and has a wonderful, non-medicine like fragrance.  After using, the scent does linger in the hair which doesn't bother me at all.  However, it may be a nuisance to those who are sensitive to smells.  GBP leaves my hair feeling soft, full of body, bounce and shine.  I mean, my hair is noticeably fuller after application and it feels stronger.   It does NOT leave your hair feeling stiff or coarse, but leaves it feeling hydrated and supple.

Aubrey products can be found wherever natural products are sold, including Whole Foods and The Vitamin Shoppe, which is where I bought mine.  Price will probably vary depending on the venue, but an 11oz bottle retails for $10.93 on the Aubrey Organics website.  Also on the website, besides the original GPB, they now have Rosemary Peppermint and Lavender Ylang Ylang scented GPB conditioners and accompanying shampoos that may be worth checking out.

I haven't used my Aubrey's GPB that often in recent months, but I sure am glad I have it in my stash.  It really is an awesome product.
